Sightsavers is a leading global development agency that works in over 30 countries to combat blindness, restore sight and work for the rights and needs of those with irreversible visual impairment. In India, Sightsavers has educated, counselled, trained and rehabilitated people who are visually impaired or blind, and helped extend the reach of eye services to the least served areas of India.
A Facebook application to help the NGO create awareness and engage their audience, while increasing awareness about Sightsavers’ efforts in the area.
Fountainhead Digital created awareness for Sightsavers’ cause by creating a photo contest with a difference.
People who had recovered from visual impairment took photographs that expressed what the ‘Joy of Seeing’ meant to them. These photographs were uploaded, making them available for voting. The cause and the poll drove significant engagement towards Sightsavers’ Facebook page, leading to increased engagement, more page likes and more importantly, greater awareness.
